December 16th At Noon

Once again, Eveline Township Cemetery will be adorned with wreaths honoring our deceased veterans.

Chief Shawano Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, took on this project several years ago, and Eveline Township residents jumped right in. We have had wonderful support and participation for this event for all those years, and look forward to seeing many familiar faces and maybe some new ones. We have 57 veterans to honor. We have the wreaths, enough for every veteran, but sometimes not enough for everyone in attendance to have the chance to lay one. In any case, we encourage all participants to walk around the cemetery and appreciate the sacrifice those veterans were willing to make and thank them for doing so.

Everyone should feel proud and humbled at the same time when thinking of their commitment to our Country. Please come and help us honor them. We start with an introduction, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a short message from the chapter chaplain. We hope to have some veterans in attendance.

We also put special wreaths with flags for each branch of service on the fence for all to see during the winter. After all wreaths are placed, enjoy some comradery and cookies with your neighbors, and be proud of your participation.
